Operates mechanical and electronic equipment to setup and produce tubing of various grades of material, wall thicknesses, and lengths.
Changes mill filters and seam annealer fiberglass
Threads material through forming and sizing sections of the mill to initiate setup of the mill.
Makes adjustments on driven stand rolls, side pass rolls, and weld rolls in accordance with Mill Tooling Setup Charts to properly set mill up for given sizes, walls, and grades of material.
Makes adjustments on sizing section driven stand rolls and side pass rolls to properly size tubing.
Operates the OD scarfing unit to properly scarf OD excess material produced adjusting cutting depth as necessary.
Operates control panel for mill, seam annealer, and full-body stress relieve to start and run strings of tubing as well as
setup/pull test samples.
Performs dimensional and visual inspection of samples provided for beginning/end of strings and setup/pull test to verify quality of weld.
Sets and monitors temperature for full body, seam annealer, tube welding temperature as per instructions provided on the Mill Production Order and Work Instruction Manual.
During tube size changeovers, monitors and directs changeover team to insure a proper and efficient changeover,
performs changeover of weld rolls, installs impeder line and welder coil.
Hours: Rotating shift / full time
