Prepares sales forecasts and collects and analyzes data to evaluate current sales goals. Researches and evaluates current economic conditions that may affect the organization’s ability to sell its products or services in the marketplace. Assists in the development of sales quotas and forecasts for the sales team. Recommends changes to current sales techniques, procedures or promotional efforts based on market research and new trends



  • Work with Sales and Marketing management to understand nature of market, product, target customer, and competition
  • Pull CRM customer profiles and consult with sales team to understand standard customer buying behavior
  • Pull historical CRM contact reports and Sales reports to understand trends and establish baseline
  • Analyze all data to understand general company, product and sales reps strengths and weaknesses
  • Analyze all data to understand patterns, norms and exceptions
  • Identify inconsistencies, review performance history and consult with sales team
  • Compare performance trends among customers, reps, territories
  • Establish basis for inconsistencies
  • Review analysis results with peer sales, marketing and product management to develop consensus and plan for change
  • Work with peer managers to propose, train and implement general changes
  • Work with sales and marketing management to analyze all customers in market to assess potential, identify high priority customer type and develop priority sales effort
  • For high priority customers, analyze sales potential, review sales history, develop sales plan and progressive sales forecast and sales obtainable goals
  • Work with sales and marketing management to train and implement changes with specific reps for high priority customers
  • Continual individual and targeted sales analysis to ensure success and correct plan, implementation or approach
  • Overall qualify and grow customer base and orders by understanding product fit, related products and utilizing product guides, price lists and product literature.
  • Overall participate in customer sales, planning and forecasting meetings
  • Establish metrics and ratios for return on licenses for ongoing license assessment
  • Travel is required where necessary to understand the market and customer base, as well as participation in industry tradeshows as needed or requested.



  • 2+ years professional B2B technical sales experience; retail or consumer goods not considered
  • 4+ years professional experience as Sales or Forecasting Analyst III with application experience assisting sales rep development
  • 4+ years professional experience using Microsoft Office, Sales/Accounting Software such as Oracle or SAP, CRMs such as SalesForce
  • Must have the ability to maintain positive and professional attitude under sometimes stressful conditions
  • Ability to research, analyze and evaluate independently but work with peer sales, marketing and product management to train, guide and plan sales and sales rep growth



  • $50,000 to $65,000 / year with performance bonusing
