Sr. Mechanical Project Team Leader –

Essential Duties and Functions
Manage the firm’s electrical design team, including:
• Serve as primary liaison to assigned clients throughout each project, including attending
client meetings
• Work closely with Principals and other Senior Project Team Leaders to develop
project scope and budget for each project
• Communicate project scope/budget and assign responsibilities to the mechanical team
members
• Lead the design development process of mechanical components for each client project
• Ensure the successful design, creation and delivery of all mechanical AutoCad and Revit
drawings for each client project, including final seal of documents
• Review and approve specifications, shop drawings, addendum and other construction
documents as necessary for mechanical-related items
• Review field reports and conduct field inspections of mechanical-related items as
necessary
• Conduct field work as necessary to verify design and/or as assigned by supervisor
• Work with Human Resources Manager to develop and supervise all mechanical team
members
• Participate in career development training as assigned by supervisor or Human
Resources Manager

Required Skills and Knowledge
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Certified Professional Engineer (P.E.)
• Licensed Engineer in the State of Texas
• 8+ years of experiences in an MEP consulting environment
• 4+ years of experience in project management in an MEP consulting environment
• Excellent knowledge of and experience with AutoCad, Revit and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent knowledge of and experience with building codes
• Demonstrated experience in the design of HVAC systems, central plants, heating
systems, ventilation systems, temperature controls and indoor air quality, as well as
other standard mechanical systems for commercial buildings
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines (continued on next page)

• Proven leadership skills
• Ability to work well on a team
• Exceptional written and verbal skills

Preferred Skills and Knowledge
• 6+ years of experience designing MEP systems for schools
• Additional accreditation such as LEED, etc.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Engineers, Engineers-in-Training, Designers, and Drafts person

Position Type/Work Hours
Full-time (40 hours per week) exempt salaried position
Some overtime required

Travel
Occasional; primarily to and from job sites and/or client meetings.
Physical Demands and Work Environment (Office)
• This is a primarily sedentary position that requires the ability to occasionally bend,
stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office supplies and materials weighing 20 pounds or
less.
• Employees work near moving parts and have risk of electrical shock.
• Typical noise in the work environment is moderate.
• Must have hand/eye coordination to operate other business machines, including but not
limited to, personal computer, phone, fax, copier, and calculator.
• Hearing and speech sufficient to communicate verbally on the phone.
• Mobility to alternate between sitting or standing and moving about the facility.
Physical Demands and Work Environment (Job Site)
• Physical demands of this position include the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach,
lift, move and carry supplies and materials weighing 50 pounds or less.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, as well as walk short distances, climb
stairs and/or ladders, crawl through confined spaces and kneel for extended periods to
assess construction progress
• Must be able to withstand outdoor elements including heat and cold
• Must follow all posted and verbal safety instructions
• Must have hand/eye coordination to operate other business machines, including but not
limited to, personal computer, phone, fax, copier, and calculator.
• Hearing and speech sufficient to communicate verbally on the phone.
• Mobility to alternate between sitting or standing and moving about the facility and/or
job site.
